Stay COOL or WARM and breathe fresher air with our newest 14,000btu units. Ideally cools or heats an area up to 450sq.ft. Effectively improves air circulation in poorly ventilated spaces and maximizes energy efficiency. Uses new UL required LCDI plug. WA-1410 models incorporates Negative Ionizer and new UV light technology to effectively kill bacteria.

Self-Evaporating Technology - during the cooling or heating process, water is extracted from the air into the unit. Most of this water is then recycled and used to cool the cooling coils and make it run more efficiently, cooling as well as energy. These units require a dedicated 20A circuit. What is Sunpentown Self Evaporating Technology?

During the cooling process, dehumidifying takes place and water is extracted from the air into the unit. Most of this water is then recycled and is used to cool the unit and make it run more efficiently. This means that approximately 50 to 55% of the condensed water is evaporated out with the exhaust air which reduces the amount of water that ends up in the water tank which then has to be emptied. Air conditioners that DO NOT have Self Evaporating Technology have more water and requires the water tank to be emptied more frequently.

The time frame it takes to fill the water tank on ANY portable air conditioner depends upon the humidity of the air .

What is the Difference between a Portable AC Unit and a Window Unit?

ALL AC units produce heat while cooling and part of the problem with portable units is that the heat can never be as efficiently ducted out of your room like a window mount unit can. Portable units have an exhaust hose out the back and gets extremely warm when the unit is running. Some of this heat will be added back into the room. This is why we de-rate the area coverage to a more realistic number. Another factor is if the room intended for the AC unit is in direct sun light or has items in the room that produce heat such as Computer Servers, etc.. Also, Portable AC Units are NOT intended for areas such as Kitchens!

Please note the AC plug type for these units. 120V / 60Hz - 1 Phase - (Requires dedicated 20 amp circuit and UL/ETL required plug ) (The unit is designed to operate on a 120-volt/20-amp circuit, using a specific electrical plug and outlet. PLEASE NOTE: All Portable Air Conditioners REQUIRE that the supplied Ventilation Exhaust Hose be used. This exhausts the HEAT generated by the AC unit out from the air conditioner to the outside. For units with Heaters, the Ventilation Hose exhausts the cold air to the outside when using Heat function.

ALL air conditioners produce hot air and this hot air MUST be removed and NOT put back in the air that is being cooled. To do so would be defeating the purpose of the air conditioner.
