These pure air system home air purifiers and home air cleaners series includes the 600 HEPA Shield, the first whole-house TRUE HEPA filtration system. By utilizing the efficiency of the HEPA air filters, the HEPA 600HS (600 CFM HEPA SYSTEM) has adopted the same filtration effectiveness as required in hospital surgery rooms, clean rooms and other applications where the removal of harmful respirable particles (less than 1 micron in size) are necessary.

The 600 Series pure air system home air purifiers and cleaners series come in two basic configurations: Standard with traditional electric motors, and the PLUS systems featuring G.E. ECM Variable Speed, low energy use motors. The PLUS systems offer TRUE 21st Century digital motor technology that is unavailable in any other whole-house filtration system. The PLUS home air filters systems come in two versions, the PLUS HVAC with pre-programmed G.E. "smart motor" control settings that work in sync with existing heating/cooling systems, and the Stand-Alone PLUS DCU-VS with finite variable speed control from 1% of volume to 100% of rated volume.

Also available is the 600OA (600 CFM Odor Adsorber). The 600OA is used in applications where only VOC’s or odors are to be removed and is available in the Standard or PLUS configuration.

Rated as the best whole-house filtration system, the HEPA 600 Home air purifiers and cleaners series utilizes the patented by-pass design to attach to any forced air ducted heating/cooling system up to 5 tons. The HEPA 600HS home air filter unit is attached to the return-air side of the heating/cooling system in a by-pass configuration. The powerful 1/3 HP blow pulls over 600 CFM of air through the prefilter, carbon and True HEPA filter, and handles the pressure resistance across there three air filters so the heating/cooling system fan sees no additional resistance. The by-pass configuration will handle 40% to 60% or more of the air through the heating/cooling system at any time, so the HEPA 600HS home air filter will see all the air coming through your heating/cooling system after the second pass. This allows for up to 48 air changes per 24 hours for most homes. And. . .even in the by-pass configuration, the HEPA 600HS home air purifiers and air cleaners systems have proven to be more efficient in removing respirable size particles than any in-line home_air_filters currently on the market. We always recommend that you keep your standard air filter in place in your heating/cooling system when using the HEPA 600HS unit.

The above sizing chart is a guideline only.

Although there is no exact sizing formula for HEPA filters, you should keep a couple of points in mind.

• Generally speaking, the more air changes per hour (ACH) you can have, the more effective a HEPA filter can be.
• There are no guidelines as to how many ACH you should provide, but as a rule of thumb, 1 ACH provides excellent air cleaning results. However, you can also get very good results at .5 ACH depending on your preferences, house, etc. As a matter of fact, a HEPA filter performing at .5 ACH will produce better results than most other air cleaning devices on the market. This is important to know because often budget plays an important role when purchasing a HEPA filter.
• People with sensitivities (allergies/asthma) may require an ACH of 2 or higher

• HEPA 600HS Stadard HVAC: Home Air Cleaners. This unit produces Single Speed 600 CFM of air. 1/3 Hp motor. Contains one (1) Polyester Ring-Panel prefilter; one (1) 5 lb carbon pad; and one (1) 99.97% True HEPA Air filter. Comes in two sections. Can rotate top and bottom for best inlet and discharge orientation.
• HEPA 600HS PLUS HVAC or DCU (stand-alone) VS: HEPA 600HS PLUS: Home Air Purifiers. The PLUS unit utilizes the new GE ECM variable speed motor. This unit is normally used with Variable Speed HVAC systems. It can also be used with standard HVAC systems. It comes in both the HVAC Version and the DCU (stand-alone, speed control on unit) VS Version. The air filter components are the same as the standard HEPA 600HS.
• HEPA 600OA Standard HVAC: Home Air Purifers and Cleaners. The OA or Odor Adsorber unit has the same air flow capacity as the 600HS (Single Speed 600 CFM) but does not have a HEPA Air filter. It has three additional carbon pads for a total of 20 lbs of carbon. The OA unit also has a prefilter. It is used in applications where only VOC’s or odors are to be reduced and removed. Not a particle removal unit. This unit also comes in the PLUS versions.
• HEPA 600OA PLUS HVAC or DCU (stand-alone) VS: Home Air Purifiers. The PLUS unit utilizes the new GE ECM variable speed motor. This unit is normally used with Variable Speed HVAC systems. It can also be used with standard HVAC systems. The air filter components are the same as the standard Odor Adsorber  600OA. It comes in both the HVAC Version and the DCU (stand-alone, speed control on unit) VS Version. The air filter components are the same as the standard HEPA 600OA.
